In enrichment, we spent about a month reading "banned" books and studying how words are powerful. We spent time talking with others as well as writing about the power of the books and what we learned from them. To finish up our study, each student studied a person that used their words to create change. In the end, we understood how powerful our words are, and we got to build our technology skills. :) With Jurassic Night just a few days away, I wanted to share some pictures of our dino creation day. We had a blast using clay to create a figurine of our ultimate dinosaur. We learned that sometimes our ideas work our perfectly, and sometimes we have to tweak our plans to make them even better. We are so excited to share our final projects with you on Thursday. You may have head about the book commercials we will be doing from your child, but I wanted to share some information with you too. As you know, the purpose of a commercial is to sell something. When we make book commercials, we are trying to convince others to read our favorite books.
Whenever your child finishes a book that they absolutely adore, they can get a book commercial draft page from the classroom. They will then organize their thinking and practice their commercial for you. When they feel confident about their commercial, they can let me know and I will record their commercial to share with the class. I am SO excited to get our commercials going. :) |
